Royal Enfield Books publisher Gordon May has been involved with classic motorcycles for around 25 years. He toured India and Nepal for six months on a Bullet in 1988 and has owned many other Royal Enfields. His current collection comprises a 1933 250cc Model BO Bullet; a 1952 500 Twin; a 1965 Continental GT and two others which he is currently restoring - a 1949 350cc and a 1953 500cc Bullet.
Gordon's passion for Royal Enfields led him to create The Bullet-In (TBI) magazine in 2001. This small but sought-after publication quickly became the magazine for all Royal Enfield Bullet enthusiasts. The Bullet-In magazine encapsulated everything that is special about the Royal Enfield Bullet. With in-depth reviews, stunning photography, a full restoration guide and useful question and answer sections it proved invaluable to readers.
The magazine's success led Gordon to write the first ever book on the Royal Enfield Indian Bullet. It's title? Made in India. This was rapidly followed by Made in Redditch, a pictorial archive of Royal Enfield in Britain.
Two more books followed: By Miles The Best, which features every Royal Enfield, illustrated year by year, from 1930 to 1970, and for Christmas 2005, the lavish coffee table book, Royal Enfield - The Legend Rides On.
